FIU's three Washington Avenue-based SoBe arts outposts are back online for National Poetry Month! Hosted by Jewish Museum of Florida, Miami Beach Urban Studios, and The Wolfsonian, the informative series continues with an edition that sheds light on poetry's historical and contemporary influences.

Speakers include: Deborah Briggs, The Betsy's VP of arts, moderating presentations including a reading by poets Pablo Cartaya and Pedro Medina Léon from their translation of work by Hyam Plutzik; FIU Religious Studies professor Tudor Parfitt, sharing remarks followed by a reading by poet Howard Camner; FIU English faculty Nathaniel Cadle and Shawn Christian, talking about Harlem Renaissance poetry publications; and FIU MFA alumna Chris Friday, who will share insights into her mixed-media, text-based practice.

Watch the recorded talk online.
