Inspired by the scientific advances and cultural disruptions of the last century, New York architect and critic Joseph Giovannini will take us on a voyage through architecture's wilder shores, identifying the roots of new developments in artistic currents. Introduced by artist Michele Oka Doner and writer Beth Dunlop, the talk will include boundary-pushing structures by Frank Gehry, Zaha Hadid, Rem Koolhaas, and Enric Miralles, among the high-profile designers who made recent decades one of the most inventive and fruitful periods in architectural history. Giovannini will be available to sign copies of his new book, Architecture Unbound: A Century of the Disruptive Avant-Garde, following the event.

Presented in partnership with AIA Miami.
