Be among the first to see our new exhibition, Silhouettes: Image and Word in the Harlem Renaissance, and hear from its architects about the published works that conveyed a new, modern image of African Americans to the world in the 1920s and later. Christopher Norwood, exhibition curator and founder of Hampton Art Lovers, and Shawn Christian, curatorial consultant and FIU English professor, will explore the literary–artistic collaborations behind the key books and magazines of this movement in a conversation moderated by Lauren N'Namdi. Arrive a little early to chat with Silhouettes' creators, and enjoy food, refreshments, and entertainment as The Wolfsonian's lobby morphs into a jazz café celebrating the show's opening.

Co-presented with FIU Humanities Edge.
