Unrealized Architecture: Selections from the Wolfsonian Collection

May 24–October 31, 2010
The Wolfsonian–FIU @ 1001 Washington Avenue

Architectural surroundings impact everyday life. What, then, is the role of the countless architectural projects that never materialize physically

This installation, developed by The Wolfsonian Library, explored the part that unrealized architectural projects play in society: their influence on architectural theory and practice; their promotion of architectural solutions to technological and social problems; and their potential to bear witness to the past and point the way toward the future. Together, the works on view presented multiple visions of what could have been, and what still might be.
